Dynamites were scheduled to play Kalavango in Molepolole on Saturday, but the game now hangs in the balance.

The team’s coach, Mpho Tlhaselo, yesterday told Mmegi Sport that they are not sure if they will be ready for the match come Saturday. He said their main challenge is that most of their players are students at secondary schools and tertiary institutions, and are currently engaged in their academic studies.

He also said that the club wrote a letter to the Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) seeking a temporary withdrawal from the league this season.

Tlhaselo said BVF postponed the Dynamites game against Kutlwano on June 6, 2015, as the team did not have enough players for the tie.

“Some of our players are involved in the South Zone Botswana Integrated Sports Association (BISA) league that started last weekend. The South Central Zone begins this weekend and another player will be involved,” he explained.

Tlhaselo also said that BVF had advised the club to play the Kalavango game but that was caste in doubt. He said they don’t want to hold the league at ransom hence their request for withdrawal. He also said that they want want to put their house in order and return to the games next year. The coach added that the club could only play the weekend game if players stationed in Maun and Orapa come to Gaborone. Tlhaselo said that his club has been instrumental in providing the national Under-23 players hence BVF has been kind to them.

Dynamites have accumulated six points and they are in position five. In another match to be played on the same day, Spiking Stars face Kutlwano. Both sides have nine points with Kutlwano in second position.

Stars coach, Oteng Ramocha said playing against Kutlwano is always difficult. He said Kutlwano has experienced players and majority of them play for the national team. Ramocha also said that they are ready for an encounter and they have nothing to lose.

He said Stars is in the process of developing players but it is unfortunate that they lose players annually. Ramocha said the players either join other clubs or decide to play in the Constituency League. In the second game, Stars will battle it out against Mag-Stimela. In the first round, the team came from behind to beat Mag-Stimela 3-2. He said the side does not pose match threat to his charges.
