Couple found dead at Glen Valley Sewage pond

The police have said the bodies are of a 22-year-old woman and 32-year-old man who had been missing since June 15.

Police spokesperson, Dipheko Motube confirmed the developments but declined to provide further details, saying investigations were continuing.

“The man hails from Nlaphwane and the woman is from Ntlhantlhe,” he said.

“They had no visible injuries on their bodies. “We are suspecting foul play in this matter and the investigation into what could have led to their deaths is ongoing.

“We appeal to members of the public to assist with any information that could. help.” Broadhurst Police Station Commander, Bonosi Molapisi also confirmed the discovery of dead bodies floating in the sewage pond on Saturday afternoon.

Mmegi is informed that the couple met on the woman’s birthday on June 14.

According to insiders, the man who stays in Francistown was in Gaborone visiting the woman.

“The woman is my neighbour at our village. I heard that she met up with the man for their date night on her birthday. She went out that night together with a friend and the man,” said the insider.

“After a night of festivities, they went to drop the friend off at her home and had been missing since.”
