According to the company’s project coordinator Zweli Mhlanga, Diantsha BW is a television show that aims to bring best viewing experience. The producers intend to make it a breathtaking, memorable and groundbreaking dance game in Botswana.

As it is a free platform to showcase the best, Mhlanga called on the dance groups to register in large numbers.  They have no specific dance genres.

“I call on dancers from different music genres to come and blow the public away with their cool dance moves. There is no age restriction and registration fee. We want serious people who will be able to give their best to the competition. We also call upon dance crews outside Gaborone to come and battle out with the groups from the city and show them what they are made of,” he said. He said their intension was to keep the youth busy and show them that they could still enjoy life by having clean, alcohol and drug free entertainment. Their hope is to attract disciplined, professional and committed youth as they intend to take the local dancing profession into higher heights.

“We have realised that in Botswana there is no major competition focus in dance. We wanted to mold them and empower them with skills required in the music industry. We want to provide clean entertainment where there is no alcohol and drugs. We want youth to know that they can still enjoy themselves without drinking,” he explained.

Mhlanga said they have judges coming from the choreography and entertainment industry and background who would also give the competitors an advice on how they could improve.

The competition will start on 4 July, 2015 till December of this year.

“We will be having an elimination of some groups until the semi finals on October where afterwards we would have the mobile voting. The elimination would be taking place every fortnight. This initiative will give the fans an opportunity to vote for their favourite groups and keep them in the competition. The competition will be aired on our Youtube channel,” he said.

He said the prices would be worth P100, 000 where the crew that scoops the first price would walk away with P50,000, second price would walk away with a whooping P20,000 and the third group will win themselves P10,000 and a other goodies.

He explained that he was confident that his organization would change the game by evolving with the times and offering a platform for the youth to expose their talent and arts to the world.

“This is the other dimension of Botswana,” he ended.
