Khama will pay an Official Visit to France next week - Press Release

 

During the visit, Khama will have meetings with Hollande and Senior Government Officials of the French Republic responsible for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, Foreign Affairs, and Defence and Security.

Botswana's diplomatic relations with France were established in 1967. France has a Resident Mission in Gaborone which was opened in July 2001.

Dialogue and practical cooperation between Botswana and France have continued to grow in recent years in critical areas such as conservation, agriculture, transport, defence, language and culture, among others.

The two countries also share common interests and shared values including the promoting of democracy, the rule of law, human rights, peace and security as well as economic and social progress.

President Khama will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security; the Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism; and other Senior Government Officials.

Khama and his delegation will return to Gaborone on June 25.
