The MAA outfit is well known for performing melodies during Easter and Christmas holidays.

MAA conductor, Dumi Mmualefe, told Showbiz that his choir and the South African group will stage a ‘musical journey performance’.

“The performances will be more of a journey because there will be a variety of genres and acts on stage,” he said.

He said the choir will perform genres such as classical music, opera, folk, marabile, clap n’ tap and a medley. The choir will also perform covers from the likes of Mozart.

“Apart from the group performance some of the choir members will also have solo performances, our tenor acts will stage an opera performance during the night,” said Mmualefe.

The reason for performing a variety of music genres, Mmualefe said, was because they are redefining choral music.

He said: “We are also trying to assist our choir members to find their own sound as individual artists”.

The choir has participated in shows and competitions such as Botswana Choral Music Association (BOCMA), which they have won twice. MAA has previously performed in Mamelodi and at the Botswana High Commission office in Pretoria.  Mmualefe and Tsietsi Mofokeng will be the conductors during the choral night.

Despite facing financial challenges MAA has invested P 30,000 for the choral night. The choir comprises of young people aged between 16 and 23.
