The commercial rap track has some Kwaito elements in it that make it different from a number of commercial rap tracks.

It is a hybrid of Skhanda rap.

Sheba Gusheshe was done in three languages, which are Setswana, English and Zulu.  The later brings in the Kwaito element. “I wanted to try out something new and different from the ordinary Hip Hop that we do on a daily basis,” said 22-year-old Daniella Swagger, an English rapper.

She is hoping that Sheba Gusheshe will bring new changes in the Hip Hop industry that will also enable the industry to grow.  “I will be glad to see more female rappers coming up and making more Hip Hop music,” she said.

In neighbouring South Africa, a number of rappers such as the Cash Time family have revolutionised the Hip Hop genre, coming up with what is popularly known as Skhanda rap.

While the name Sheba Gusheshe, loosely translates to “check out the BMW’” the song basically, refers to a woman whose beauty compares to that of the German sedan. In the song, Daniella Swagger also talks about taking over the rap throne and warning competitors to brace for the challenge.

Prior to the official release this week, the song had already been distributed online. The song will form part of the album, which is due for release next year.
