The new joint, located at Dros Upper Level, opened its doors to patrons two weeks ago, but it has already started making waves.

With gigs every Saturday, the new club is more suitable for young urbanites with an affinity for fun.

The new venue’s host Mduduzi ‘Mdu Tha Party’ Madzwamuse says: “RnR is new age partying, with everything in perfect position for a perfect experience, the DJs, performers, party props, bar specials, the VIP area and its perks”.

He believes that with the presence of RnR the entertainment scene in Gaborone is back on its feet.

Despite the name, RnR is not a rock music nightspot, but it plays urban music such as Hip Hop, RnB and House.

The former Yarona fm presenter also said that RnR will bring a new experience in the clubbing culture as there will be a number of creative elements at the club.

He said the club will feature special performances both from the local and international scene. The club boasts resident DJs such as KY Carter, Casper The DJ, Macx Wa Bana, DJ Aimo, DJ Bakito and Strictly House Bound.

“RnR plans to bridge the gap we have been experiencing between shows headlined local artists and those of international acts.  We will give our local acts the same platform and exposure via promotion as we would do with an international act,” he said. During the launch of the club South African artist Tshego featured.  A number of young revellers thronged the RnR launch.

Despite some hitches at the launch, Mdu Tha Party says that they have sorted out the problems they experienced such as reinforced security, a well managed VIP area and better service at the bar.

RnR is owned by two entities, which are Gualla Entertainment and Team Out of Order, which is headed by Mdu Tha Party.

The two entities have hosted high profile events such as the Play Fest and Buck Wild. On June 30 RnR will host Major League DJs of the hit song Slyza Tsotsi.
