The event will take place at Majestic Five Hotel in Palapye on July 18.

With music legends Ringo Madlingos, Oskido, Socca Moruakgomo, and Trompies billed to perform at the show alongside Botswana’s own young talent in Kearoma Rantao, and DJ Sala, DJ Milton and DJ Sid, the show is expected to attract a mixture of fans. A press statement from the cellular company stated that raised funds at the daylong show would be donated to various charities.

“Some of the objectives of the Be Mobile Ke Yarona Festival is to raise funds for BTCL Charity as well as promote arts and culture through a music workshop, and tourism in and around the communities where the festival is held,” the statement read.

The company’s public relations officer, Golekanye Molapisi, told Showbiz in an interview that they were yet to identify the beneficiaries. In 2013 the SOS Children’s Village in Serowe, House of Hope in Palapye, Kopano Foundation also based in Palapye, Itsoseng Banana and Palapye VDC were the beneficiaries.  He said that they had raised up to P100,000, which was equally divided between the five charities.

“We took a years’ break because we had to re-group.  This year even more charities will benefit from the festival. We are expecting a total of around 2,000 people,” he said.
