Lover arrested in the murder of Nswazwi woman

Tutume Police Station Commander, Superintendent Jerry Halahala confirmed that the man was helping police with investigations. He said the woman, who hails from Nswazwi village, was found lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds all over her body.

“It appears that a sharp object had been used to inflict the pain. Investigations are still ongoing to find out what caused the death of the deceased.

We suspect that the death was caused by a love relationship that went sour. However, at this stage we cannot say that the man we have arrested killed her,” he said.

The station commander expressed concern over the frequency of passion killings that are prevalent in his area of jurisdiction. He suggested that lovers should seek assistance from elders, police and social workers whenever they encounter problems in their relationships, instead of resorting to murder.

Halahala added that two months ago, another young woman also in her 20s, was stabbed to death by her lover who then dumped her corpse in a nearby bush but the suspect was arrested, and investigations are at an advanced stage.
