Tswelelopele brigade dominates sub-zonal tourney

The eight men and women sides battled it out for the four places in the zonal championships. The young men from Tswelelopele Brigade registered their first three points by beating Lobatse Brigade 3-1 on Friday.
The hunger for a place in the zonal continued when Tswelelopele surpassed Naledi Brigade and won all the three sets. The team was so on fire that by Saturday morning, they had wrapped up and booked a place in the zonal when they beat Tlokweng Brigade in flawless victory. The second place was grabbed by the home-side, Lobatse, after winning two games and losing one. They beat Naledi 3-1 and embarrassed Tlokweng by winning all the sets. Tlokweng lost all of their games while Naledi managed to win only one game. Tswelelopele ladies did not disappoint, replicating their men’s performances. They started their quest for the zonal championships by beating Lobatse 3-0 in a one sided affair. The team went on to register the same score line against Naledi, and concluded their dominance with a 3-1 victory against a much better Tlokweng side on Saturday.
The second position was now between the remaining three teams, but the young women from Tlokweng emerged victorious. They hit hard on Naledi and won all the sets. After losing to Tswelelopele, Tlokweng ladies picked themselves up and won the remaining game against Lobatse 3-1. Lobatse only managed to win a game while Naledi lost all the games. The four teams, who qualified to the zonal, will compete against other four teams from the other sub-regions. From there, the top two winners each from the men and women’s sides, will go on to represent the south zone in the national finals.
