Miller, said he has surpassed the stage of being a metrosexual to a fashion forward a term he defines as someone who is a benchmark of trends and fashion.

“During my metrosexual era, several people appreciated the creativity that I applied to my lifestyle, as I was making extra effort to be well presentable,” he said.

At the time, Miller was busy mastering and learning a number of skills that he could use from his styling.  The fashion muso who was a model choreographer during Miss Botswana 2013, stated that upon realising the respect and appreciation he was getting, he gained confidence to bridge into a fashion forward. As a fashion forward, Miller is now an image and brand consultant.  He said that this also gave him more confidence of doing things he had always wanted to do such as public speaking, mentoring, dance and modeling choreography.

“As a fashion forward, I have managed to grow the Teshawn Miller brand into something big as I play many roles with different organisations such as Gaborone Fashion week, Zen promotions, Jack’s gym and Fashion without boundaries,” he said.  Miller is also a television host for the Fashion District BTV show, which is produced by Dee Zone productions where he is also the in-house creative director.

Miller explained that being a metrosexual does not only involve dressing up and looking good but many aspects of grooming such as taking care of your skin condition, having a good taste in clothes, pedicures and manicures. He shared that he idolises David Beckham, who is a self confessed metro sexual, known for his designer clothes, and also uses special hair and skin accessories. The fashion lover however said that it comes with its own disadvantages such as expenses.

“Many young metrosexuals find it hard because this is an expensive lifestyle, but with a creative mind one can play around with the few resources they have,” he said.

The fashionista who plans to study fashion economics, encouraged other men in society to practice the metro sexual lifestyle in high numbers.  “Our problem locally is people tend to associate a metrosexual with a homosexual, who makes many of them scared of leading their lifestyles that way,” he noted.

Miller started off as model and has featured in a number of fashion week shows, and photo shoots.
