The house track sung in Kalanga, is receiving massive airplay in different radio stations around the continent and in Europe.

“The track debuted at number four on BBC radio 1xtra’s DNA top 5,” the 26-year-old told Showbiz.

Apart from receiving airplay in Europe, Kopisa has also been played on radio stations such as Sanyu FM and Star FM from Uganda and Zimbabwe respectively. Gaone said the success of her latest single in foreign lands has given her more confidence as a musician.  She is yet to release her first album.

The musician’s recording company Heartbeat Sounds’ aggressive marketing strategies played a pivotal role in pushing the song into the international market. The musician who recently performed at the Botswana National Sports Council awards told Showbiz that the track would be available for downloading on iTunes in three weeks.

“The song will be in the Heartbeat Sound compilation album that has songs by artists such as Lerofo, Licky, Eskimos and Frost,” she said.

Gaone is currently working with veteran music producer, Prez Beatz on her debut music album.

“My album has a variety of genres that range from House, Jazz and RnB. As a musician, I am not limited to any genre,” she said.

The emerging star believed signing with a record company would make life a lot easier for a musician.  She also poured scorn on suggestions that “recording companies are out to rip musicians off” arguing that they actually build budding musicians into better performers. She also said there are certain opportunities that one would receive, which are availed by record companies.

The musician said working under with seasoned producers as Prez Beatz and K Boss taught her important elements of music production such as proper song writing and vocal arrangement.

The musician said while the music industry was showing tremendous growth, there was concern that only few investors were willing to help uplift it.

“If we had investors we would be having quality productions and performance sets such as the ones used overseas,” she said.
