Ngurungu were found guilty of using an improperly registered Morris Ruzivo, who was the team’s top goal scorer.  Addressing the First Division North annual general meeting, Motlogelwa urged teams to read the rules and regulations to avoid falling foul to the law.

“We all need to read the constitution as our guideline.  Let us study it to help us when taking decisions. Club chairpersons and everybody ought to read play rules and regulations. Let us not assume that our opponents or the Premier League won’t see. I urge you not to negatively criticise, but to learn something from issues like that one of Sankoyo so that your teams won’t repeat the same mistake,” he said. Motlogelwa further advised First Division teams to protect the image of their sponsor, Debswana. He said if the media always portrays First Division league negatively, they will be at risk of losing their sponsor and also find it difficult to secure a new one.

“We should promote the Debswana brand by doing things right. Teams should abide by the sponsorship terms and conditions,” he advised.

He said once football management is aware of accountability and abides by the laws, they can run a fair game without many queries.  Meanwhile, Motlogelwa applauded the First Division North teams for having finished their league without any case brought before the BFA Disciplinary Committee.

“As the BFA National Executive Committee, we recommend you because your league finished without any cases of indiscipline or others reported to us. If there were problems, we are happy that you managed to solve them within your structures. We are also happy for Green Lovers and Miscellaneous for having climbed the top ladder and making Serowe shine.”

“You must be aware that BFA wants to have football across the country, the game should be balanced throughout the country. And as for Francistown, I think maybe they need to sit down and re-consider themselves,” said Motlogelwa.

Motlogelwa also urged teams to nominate the right people into positions. He said when nominating people into NEC positions, they should choose people who are trustworthy and who would be able to work and be accountable.

According to him, BFA will make so many changes to the constitution as they think there should be profound reforms.
