Despite the chilly weather, people came dressed in the traditional attires to this event, which was also graced by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Thamaga-Kumakwane Tshenolo Mabeo, government officials as well as the chief and village elders.

On serve were traditional dishes such as seswaa, ditloo, kabu, diphaphatha, mogetlo, bojalwa ja Setswana, dikgobe, bogobe ja lerotse to mention a few. Performances from traditional dance groups, polka dance, poets, traditional guitarists, dikhwaere spiced up the day.

Also on the menu were traditional games like diketo, morabaraba, koi, ulu, mhele and dibeke.

According to one of the event organisers, Tampi David profits made from the event will be used for Ramaphatle Primary School standard seven students boot camp, which is scheduled to take place before they sit for their final examination in October.

Among other issues, the boot camp will take the learners through motivational talks about the life expectations and career paths.

Mabeo, who is also the minister of Transport, encouraged the organisers to continue with the good work.

Special initiatives like these are very important in our lives, and I encourage men and women to work together as this is not only about promoting arts and culture, it also promotes tourism, said Mabeo

He referred to Letlhafula festivals as the in thing which brings together people to celebrate culture, promote business and as well as contribute to the economy of this country. Mabeo encouraged people to start preparing for the coming ploughing season which he said if taken serious might help Batswana to be self-sufficient thus reduce importation of basic food commodities.

The event was organised by three women, Prinah Setlogelo, Tampi David and Dibane Keitsemang, who are small entrepreneurs with an aim to promote agriculture and tourism.
