The FDS secretary general, Sidney Magagane told Mmegi Sport that Botswana Football Association (BFA) was yet to confirm their request to postpone the assembly.

“We were supposed to hold the AGM on May 31, 2015, but we could not because at the time, the playoffs were not yet complete,” he said.

Magagane added that a series of protests had delayed events and in the end they did not finish the season in time.  “We will reflect on what happened during the season and map a way forward.

He indicated that a new committee would be endorsed. “We lost Tarique Babitseng along the way so vacant positions such as the vice chair and additional member will be filled,” he said.

Magagane was also quick to point out that with the full committee in place, everything would fall in place.  In an interview with Mmegi Sport yesterday, Mogoditshane Fighters vice manager, Charles Mositwane said the club was looking forward to the assembly. “Our committee will meet today to plan everything beforehand,” he said.

He openly expressed their good relations with the current FDS committee.

“We do not have a problem with them, they have listened to our enquiries and complaints throughout the season,” he said. Mositwane also expressed his satisfaction with the way the league has been run.

However, Black Forest chairman Ditiro Motlhabane told Mmegi Sport that the committee had to be overhauled.   “We are not satisfied with how they run the league. First of all, they do not listen to our complaints and they are always absent,” he said.

Motlhabane added that the committee run everything.

“We do not want protests when the season is supposed to end, that is something the committee should have long fixed.

Some of the committee members had bigger commitments in their premier clubs, but we hope that everything will change now that the clubs have been relegated to the first division,” he said.
