The team, which has not lost a single game, is currently sitting at the summit of the log, with 12 points.

Kutlwano follows in second position with nine points, trailed by Spiking Stars who have also accumulated nine points.  In an interview with Mmegi Sport yesterday, Mafolofolo coach, Kabo Ntshinogang said their plan at the beginning of the season was to challenge for the women’s championship. He said the arrival of Chada Majaha, who is a defender, has brought confidence into the team.

Ntshinogang added that players also believed they could beat other teams. He they have not played against Kutlwano, but have beaten Kalavango twice.

“Our match against Kutlwano is going to be the league decider. We cannot go into such a match without enough preparations. That means we will need two weeks to prepare for them,” said Ntshinogang. He said the main challenge facing the team was lack of depth.  The men’s league continues this weekend with Itekeng taking on Desert Kings. The second match will be a battle between BDF VI and Itekeng. Both games will be played in Jwaneng. Tanian will face off against Police VI in Serowe.  Another game will be between Diphatsa and Police VI. Spokesperson of Kutlwano, Shadrack Modiakgotla said they would bounce back and defend the title they won last season. He also said they still have chances because they have a game in hand. Modiakgotla said the plan is to take stock of themselves and get their house in order.  “When the season started, we introduced one player each, in both the men and women’s teams. The players are from our development programme. We expect the additions to breath life in both teams,” he said. Kutlwano has accumulated 13 points from five matches, four wins and one loss. Police VI is sitting at top with 16 points from six games, followed by Spiking Stars and Kalavango with 13 points.  Meanwhile, the national women’s team has traveled to Rwanda and Kenya as part of All Africa Games preparations. The women’s league is expected to continue after international assignments.
