New BITRI board members appointed

Both Dr Maje and Modungwa are experienced professionals who have served in other boards before. Dr Maje, who is an Electrical Engineer, brings a wealth of experience in that field, while Modungwa is a distinguished Human Resource practitioner whose experience in the field is expected to boost BITRI’s board human resource expertise. Both will serve BITRI for a period of three (3) years, effective from 1 June 2015.

In a statement, the ministry also announced that Dr Martin Kebakile and Keitseng Nkah Monyatsi have also been reappointed in to the BITRI board for another two years, effective from 1 June 2015.

“The two whose expertise are in the fields of food technology and intellectual property respectively, will continue to add value to the board of BITRI in those fields,” reads the statement. 

As a newly established parastatal, BITRI is a company fully owned by the government and falls under the Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology.

Its primary mandate is to guide the national research agenda, by focusing on conducting a needs based research and delivering high standard technology solutions that maximise beneficiation of local resources for sustainable economic development.

BITRI is currently based at Fairgrounds office park, Maranyane House.
