Serufho appointed to Youth Games Commission

He will be responsible for overseeing the third African Youth Games preparations to be held in Algiers, Algeria in 2018.

Serufho sits on a number of regional sporting bodies. He is the representative of the Confederations of Southern African National Olympic Committees (COSANOC) on the Regional Organising Committee of the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5, a position he assumed recently.

He is also a trustee of the Africa Regional 6 Anti-Doping Organisation. Serufho has gained wealth of experience in organising single and multi-sport games, at a national and international level; he served as the Director for the 2007 African Junior Tennis Championships; Chairman of the Organising Committee of the same Championships in 2008; General Manager of the 2009 Botswana Games, Chef de Mission Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games and CEO of the 2nd African Youth Games held in Gaborone in 2014 among other portfolios.

BNOC president, Negroes Kgosietsile said they were delighted by the confidence that ANOCA has shown in Serufho.

“His invaluable experience as the Chief Executive of BAYGOG will be utilised to deliver a successful 3rd African Youth Games,” he said.

An avid sport person who has been an athlete, coach and administrator, Serufho possesses academic qualifications in sport management, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport & Recreation Management, and an Executive Masters in Sport Organisation Management.

Serufho is also the Secretary General and CEO of the Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) the position he has held since February 2010.

Still on appointments to international sporting bodies, Kgosietsile has been appointed to the 204 member’ Association of the National Olympic Committees’ Finance and Audit Commission.
