BCP woos Bokone Ward voters

When launching him on Saturday, BCP president Dumelang Saleshando said Mosothwane was the best candidate for the vacant seat.

“Mosothwane is the only credible candidate who will stand with you through thick and thin. He is not contesting for money, rather he wants to truly represent you.

Saleshando urged the residents to desist from voting the party, but rather to look at the capability of the candidate.

The BCP president said the council seat fell vacant after the UDC councillor who had been voted to it resigned under pretext the salary was too little.

“This shows that his party is not ready to represent people. Politics needs someone who has a passion for it and willing to serve the nation. It is not for people who want to get rich.

“People who join politics should know that they are voted to serve people,” he said.  For his part, Mosothwane said the BDP had failed to develop Bokone ward and people should punish it.

“This ward has been won by BDP twice, yet it is one of the most neglected wards in Mochudi,” he said.

Bokone ward seat fell vacant after Titus Kebuileng, who was elected councillor under the opposition Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), resigned due to work commitment.

Mosothwane will on Saturday battle it out with youthful Boitumelo Sedumedi of the UDC and Lesego Matlapeng of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).
