Most of the artists who were new to the audience strived to deliver their best and impress the watchful eyes of their potential future fans.

Among the artists who delivered a wonderful performance was Moanelwa Mogolo wa Motswako with his song, Gatwe E Rile.

The young motswako rapper delivered a freestyle performance before actually entertaining the audience. Unlike rappers who fuse Setswana and English lyrics, Moanelwa Mogolo raps purely in Setswana and concentrates on the history and culture of Botswana.

The promising rapper who records at Ouzman Productions thrilled fans even more by performing a piece from his upcoming album Bopelonomi.

In the track dedicated to the late legendary RB1 broadcaster Mokgangkgara, Moaneelwa Mogolo appreciated the mark he left in the music industry.  Another performance was from a young man called Materase who sang kwaito. Materase delivered a solo performance and his song took the audience back in time when old school kwaito classics were still ruling the charts. The kwaito musician said he works with the legendary kwaito sensation Coloza.

Materase said he has been absent in the industry for a long time, but is now back for good.   The mood then switched to kwasakwasa music with the Raymond performing. The singer concentrated more on performance.  He dedicated the track to Olympic runner, Nigel Amos.  The man from Shoshong encouraged the audience to support local music.

However, the audience was delighted to see perhaps a familiar face when Tumza and the Big Bullets performed on stage.

Tumza who goes by the tag line The Real Kunyapist was a favourite among the crowd and he performed his song, Kgaola Mpeechane.

The energetic musician’s performance included freestyle from his dancers.  The Maitisong Outdoor Festival fringed on the main festival that recently ended.

The festival has been taking place since 1996 with the objective to give locals a chance to see their celebrities performing on stage.
