Stompie releases third album

All the tracks have an instrumental element of the well-known South African kwaito artist and disc jockey, DJ Calvin of Ke Rata Cabbage fame. In this 50-minute anthology, Stompie enlightens his audience of his rebirth and his vibe.  Upon pressing the play button, one would think he is not a local artist.  Stompie’s days in Botswana seem numbered as he mentions that his collaboration with Spenza Man has already opened doors for him in South Africa.

“I have recently been signed by a South African company called Shining Moon Music.  The same company has singed artists such as Spenza Man, DJ Calvin of Ke Rata Cabbage fame, Nomsa Diva and DJ Eamo just to name a few,” he said.

In the first track he offers hope that dreams can be achieved.  The young artist has dubbed the album The Rebirth because of his long absence from the music industry.

The album was produced in at Crocodile Studios. Spenza Man engendered the album and the producer is DJ Eamo.  The album features Spenza Man and Nthabi both from South Africa and one of Botswana’s hip hop artists, DMac.

The album has a total of 14 songs namely From Bots to Mzanzi, O Boile, Monate, Bang Bang, Makarapa, This Life, Legodimo, Makarapa remix, Mapenza Syle, Makarapa Instumental, Monate Instrumental, O Boile instrumental and Bang Bang instrumental.

Stompie released his first album in 2007 at the tender age of 11 years at Storms Studios and he won a Botswana Musicians Union award for Best Newcomer the same year.  He said his first album was an overnight success mainly because he featured Mapetla.
