The event’s rich line-up included Mapetla, Makau, Tizo, and Malakista just to mention a few, but it was La Timmy who really had Old Naledi eating from the palm of his hands. Born, Timothy Sabutha , La Timmy got on stage with his right hand man DJ Guyvos. The two are popular for their resident Deejay gig on Botswana television’s prime music show, Flava Dome.

The Kasane born artist rocked the stage with some of his big hits including My Babe and Nanzalavuke, whilst executing his trademark dance moves. Another hit maker Mapetla dished out some of his singles, to a lukewarm reception. His old time hit Aaah got the crowd’s attention.

Showtime noted that although the festival stretched into the late hours of Saturday night, underage children did not give in to the cold breeze as they waited for Slizer, who was set to close the show.

Clad in her rugged clothes the Bazuka star closed the show in style.

The event organisers explained that Maitisong Outdoor Festival acts as a fringe to the main festival, which ended recently.

The show mobilises some of the big wings who have performed at the main festival as an initiative to give local communities like Bontleng and Old Naledi a chance to see their favourite celebrities on stage for free.

“The other objective is to give young and upcoming and unrecorded artist a chance to interact and share the stage with the big stars and perform to a large audience,”  one of the organisers, Motshereganyi Sefayetso said.
