Maitisong festival keeps Old Naledi alive

The Queen of Gospel Tebby also kept the crowd alive with her performance as they sang along. Upcoming artists did not disappoint as they also gave the audience their best performances.

By dawn Old Naledi people were still energetic. They could not get enough of MMP family of Lebala Ka Nna Fame.  Naledi “Slizer” Kaisara closed the show with her mesmerising performance.

In an interview with Showbiz, Maitisong Outdoor Coordinator, Ernest Sereto, said that this event is one of their efforts to accord people who do not do nightlife an opportunity to see their local artists perform during the day.

“It is through this, that we also give the upcoming artists an opportunity to perform and in a way expose their potential to the industry as mostly we give them first priority.

If it was possible we could be giving each artist in Botswana an opportunity to perform but due to budget constraints we had to cut some out from more than 100 artists who had  register.” For this year’s event about 60 artists were selected and divided into two groups to perform at Old Naledi and the Bus rank. The Bus rank performance, which mostly comprised of upcoming artists, will be held today.
