Leading global logistics company launched in Botswana

The general manager of Aramex Botswana, Kelly Ramputswa said at the launch that through the partnership with Sprint Couriers Botswana, the company would offer Batswana an opportunity to shop anywhere globally, with ease and convenience.

“Once a customer has registered for Aramex Shop and Ship lifetime membership on our website, they will get 15 personalised physical addresses in New York, London, Shanghai, Istanbul, Dubai, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Frankfurt, Milan, Barcelona, Paris, Singapore, Ontario and Malaysia to shop from online retailers. We will then deliver the goods at reasonable shipping rates,” she said.

Aramex is focused on handling and shipping purchases for customers from across the world and delivering them directly to them. It will also offer international express, domestic express, freight and shop and ship.

Ramputswa added that the company is at the forefront of facilitating trade, employing some of the most advanced technology and business practices in the industry in a manner, which will attempt to balance the needs of international business and the imperatives of building a vibrant economy of a developing country.

For his part, Minister of Transport and Communications Tshenolo Mabeo said the launch of Aramex would improve the transport and logistics industry in Botswana.

Mabeo described the Sprint Couriers and Aramex partnership as valuable for economic development. 

“The industries that drive Botswana’s economy cannot in any way function without means of transport and logistics. It is therefore safe to say that this industry is the backbone of the country’s economy. It is pleasing to know that a boost in a single industry will give a domino effect boost to the rest of the economy,” he said.

The launch of Aramex Botswana is expected to deepen international relations, as it will impact on the growth of the Botswana economy through enhancing trade.
