Real Movers, Flamingoes promoted

Movers’ coach, Keleneetswe Leposo said they were ready for the play-offs. “Although we did not manage to win in the previous seasons, my team has always been ready to compete,” he said.

The coach’s plan to get Movers ready for the next level started with the establishment of relationships with Premier League teams like neighbours, Satmos and Nico United.

Movers regularly engaged in friendly matches with the two teams in order to help their players build confidence and improve their skills.

Movers drew with Flamingoes in the first game before mauling Maun Terrors 5-1 on Saturday. The following day, Rovers ran riot against Mogorosi Young Fighters winning 9-3 to secure promotion.

The team has no intention of beefing-up the squad, as Leposo believes the material he has can compete in football’s second tier. The team has experienced players like Ogopotse Chikoza, Oabona Ramasukujane and Derick Ramofi and the coach believes their Premier League experience will come in handy.

Flamingoes are making a return to the First Division after their relegation two seasons ago. Meanwhile, losing Mogorosi Young Fighters coach, Samuel Makhala blamed the organisers for the poor performance.

“The management was so biased, they took sides,” he said.  Lack of enough training sessions also contributed to Mogorosi’s poor performance. “Most of our players stay outside Mogorosi. We hardly train,” he complained.
