Borne out of a partnership between the Orange Group and Mozilla, the trendy smart phone uses the same operating system as the Apple 6. The developers hope the phone will open opportunities for the digital disengaged and hesitant customers segments, due to its affordability.

The 3G smart phone, which allows two sim cards, also boasts popular features like Whatsapp, Facebook and Twitter.

It is not the first time Orange has unveiled a two simcard enabling smartphone. A few years ago, the network provider released the Pixi Alcatel smart phone, which retailed for P700. It proved to be a hit among customers as it also offered popular social media features.

Orange Botswana spokesperson, Boga Chilinde said the newly launched smart phone is expected to have a cross-sectional appeal, bridging the digital gap for those who have never owned a smart phone before, to those who want a different experience.
