She leaves for Sweden on Tuesday. Kubuitsile will be taking part alongside three other writers, Caine prizewinner Helon Habila from Nigeria, well-known crime writer Margie Orford, and Kenyan writer, Wanjiku wa Ngugi.

The acclaimed writer has penned several books of various genres, which include crime fiction, and mysteries. Her versatility has earned her recognition around the world, hence the invitation alongside other renowned writers to partake in the symposium. Kubuitsile told Showtime that her Detective Kate Gomolemo series has done wonders in boosting her profile.

“The first book, The Fatal Payout, published by Macmillan is currently read in junior secondary schools in Botswana. The second book in the series, Murder for Profit, is published by Pentagon Publishing. The third book, Anything for Money is published by South Africa’s largest, independent, black owned publisher, Vilvia Publishers. The fourth book in that series, Claws of a Killer, about a serial killer at the University of Botswana, has been serialised in the South African pulp fiction journal, Jungle Jim. The last three books in the series are available as ebooks on Amazon. The series also is about to get a bit of a re-jump-start, but the news is not completely settled yet so I’ll keep it secret for now, but I think it will be good news for my dear Kate Gomolemo,” she explained.

Kubuitsile also writes mysteries for FunDza Literacy Trust in South Africa. Her newest detective series is set in Maun. As the author explains investigators are Dambuza Chakalisa and Delly Woods, which is the first in the series, The Vanishings.

Kubuitsile explained that the book was supposed to be published by Black Crake Books, but it did not happen, as she had to back-out of the deal.

“As we speak it is being serialised around the Internet. On Thursdays, two chapters appear on my blog (Thoughts from Botswana) and another local blog written by fellow writer, Wada Goitsemang, and on the Kenyan lifestyle magazine, Afrika Mbiu. On Fridays the same chapters appear on a Facebook page dedicated to the novel, https://www.facebook.com/theVanishings. The final chapters will appear the first week of June, but people can find the chapters they missed online,” she said.
