The Botswana Premier League (BPL) prosecutor, Lesedi Moahi has charged Moloi with misbehaviour and misconduct and bringing football into disrepute.

“On or about the 5th day of May 2015, the accused player, Pontsho Moloi posted a picture of him and teammates confronting referee, Joshua Bondo. This was a matter that was before the BPL DC,” the charge sheet reads.

The picture is said to have been accompanied by a message that reads: “I will never forgive this man for what he did to us and to me...m sorry but I will neva (sic).” The second count is that of bringing the game of football into disrepute. The date for the disciplinary hearing is yet to be set.

Moloi was previously charged with misconduct together with his teammate, Michael Mogaladi for attacking referee, Joshua Bondo during the Mascom Top 8 clash against rivals, Township Rollers. BPL disciplinary committee found the two players guilty and banned them for 10 games, five of which were suspended.

Meanwhile Moloi is expected to lead his side tonight when they take on Gaborone United in a league match. The game, dubbed ‘clash of the champions’ will take place at the National Stadium after being postponed twice. It was originally scheduled for last Saturday, but was postponed because the national Under-23 side was playing against Kenya. GU had four players in the team. It was moved to yesterday and then to today since the Young Zebras arrived yesterday morning. Chiefs have already wrapped the league title while GU won the Mascom Top 8. Chiefs will only be playing for pride while GU want to secure a top four finish. GU cannot finish in the top three since they can only get 55 points if they win their remaining two games. Rollers, the team currently sitting third on the log, have already collected 56 points. The last time GU and Chiefs met was in the first round of the league last year. Chiefs came out 2-0 victors. Kick off today is at 7pm.
