The club confirmed the move yesterday with Mogorosi expected to seek greener pastures in the South African League while Gabonamong might return to the local league.

This season, the two spent most of the time on the bench, with Mogorosi managing only two goals in the entire campaign. Gabonamong joined the team last season while Mogorosi, who at one stage captained the side, was signed three years ago.

The two Zebras stalwarts were named in Peter Butler’s COSAFA Senior Challenge Cup squad, which plays South Africa in Moruleng next weekend.

Meanwhile, tickets for the COSAFA Cup have gone on sale and are now available at Computicket outlets via Shoprite/Checkers stores in South Africa’s North West Province. The  regional championship will be staged from May 17 to 30 at Olympia Mark in Rustenburg and Moruleng Stadium.

“Organisers have made every effort to make the tickets affordable for fans, who can take in matches for as little as R10 (approximately P8),” COSAFA has said.

Group stage match tickets are on sale for R10 for the open stands and R20 for the West Stand. Knock-out stage match tickets are going for R20 and R40 respectively for the open and West stands. Fans can buy their tickets online at www.computicket.com.

This year, there will be 14 nations taking part in the competition. Ghana, a team that finished runners up at the 2015 African Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania, have been drafted in as guest nations.

Eight teams enter the first round pool stage, split into two groups each containing four sides. They compete on a round robin basis with the top teams in each pool advancing to the quarterfinals.

Group A has Zimbabwe, Namibia, Seychelles and Mauritius, while Group B has Tanzania, Swaziland, Lesotho and Madagascar.

The top six teams according to the FIFA World rankings start at the quarterfinal stage. Hosts South Africa take on Botswana, Mozambique clash with Malawi, Ghana play the winner of Group B and defending champions Zambia wait for the winners of Group A.

The losing quarterfinal teams compete in the Plate competition, with the winners advancing to the semifinal.
