Team Distant vocalist ventures into music production

Talking to Showbiz the multi-talented musician stated that venturing into music production does not mean that he has parted ways with his boy band, Team Distant.
Born Roy Kasale, the 24-year-old explained that his first passion in music has always been music production. “I started music production when I was still in high school where I used to record the top 20 charts using cassettes while playing the guitar to the music,” he said, adding that he was part of the school band.
His first commercial production was released in 2011 called Kasane’s Finest. “It was only a hit in Kasane since most tracks were in Sesubiya,” Roy K said. He is the mastermind behind Team Distant’s debut single Oni Korota, which was a club banger.
Roy K said that he would not start a new recording label. He said he would rather be producing music under Team Distant record label, Khawa.
The musical artist who plays the piano, guitar and drums stated that his ear for good music leads him to produce music of different genres. “A number of people know me as a house music type of guy, but I can go beyond that,” he said.
He mentioned that his major production at the moment is the Team Distant debut album, which is in its final stages of production. “All four of us as Team Distant we played major roles in the production of the album,” he said.
Roy K who started as a rapper told Showbiz that he has a number of music production projects lined up with a number of musicians that he couldn’t reveal as yet.
Roy K has been known as Team Distant vocalist-cum-drummer, who performs in his native language Sesubiya.
