The Brilliant Leteane is back

His sixth album, Tsotlhe Di Lokile, which was released last week, denotes the musician’s dexterity with musical instruments, and his powerful voice. The ten track album consists mainly of slow jams, normally referred to as praise songs and a few vibey tracks that will get the worship house on its feet.

After a brilliant start to his career, the musician took his foot off the pedal and soon he was hogging the headlines for all the wrong reasons, which later saw his musical craft taking a nosedive.

He then took a long break to re-organise his life and get his track back on career. Three years ago, rumors surfaced that Leteane was ‘a man of God’, but many dismissed it as a way of hiding his bad deeds and perhaps acceptance that his career was headed for a scrap heap.

Nowadays pastor Leteane is back to his bubbly old self, executing confidence and high spirits. From the sounds of his new album, it is clear that Leteane is at peace with himself, and his creative juices are churning, which resulted in his new offering.  The album kicks-off with the title track, in which the musician pours his heart out and confesses of his past troubles and how he overcame them through faith in God.

A touching line in the song goes, “Kene ke latlhegile. Kele mathateng Jehova/ ba ntshega metswalle/ ka e utlwa efangeli ere Jeso o ntshwetse”.

The song’s hissing percussion drums and waving rhythm keyboard just adds a soothing feeling to the soul.

It is followed by the track Letswe la Hao, a song with some inviting backing vocals packed nicely in the background.

Other songs likely to remind his old fans of his brilliant days and earn him a few new ones are Haleluya, Bua lentswe and Jeso ke mofenyi.
