Satmos will have to win their last game against Notwane

Both Satmos and Notwane are now fighting for the last spot in the Premier League with Nico United, BR Highlanders and Motlakase Power Dynamos now out of danger. Rollers came out enterprising in the first half, attacking the Cheetahs’ defence with frequently, but their efforts were thwarted by goalkeeper, Ezekiel Morake.

Rollers’ three attackers, Sekhana Koko Manqoba Ngwenya and Gofaone Tiro were too handful for Satmos defence. Satmos defended in numbers putting eight men behind the ball to relieve their defence off the pressure. It was in the 18th minute when Tiro dribbled past Satmos’ left back Kediemetse Radikoko and set up Ngwenya who opened the score with a cool finish.

Satmos responded on the half hour mark when Radikoko delivered a beautiful ball from the free kick into the far post. Galisano Johane forced Rollers’ goalkeeper, Noah Maposa to parry the ball into the upright.

The ball bounced back to find Mogakolodi Balatotse unmarked and he tapped in to level the score line. Their celebrations were short lived though when Tiro switched sides with Koko on the wing. He charged past Thapelo Mosweu on the left and delivered a diagonal ball to Edwin Moalosi who converted to make it 2-1 before the two sides went into halftime break.

In the second half, Satmos closed Rollers’ wings and played an exciting passing game in the middle through their playmaker, Gaotwesepe Legoreng. They attacked in numbers and created chances, but they were let down by their poor finishing. Rollers finished the game with 10 men after Moalosi received his marching orders for manhandling another player. The Cheetahs remain rooted in the last relegation spot just under Notwane who they will meet in the last encounter.
