The play-off was supposed to have kicked-off last week, but was delayed due to Uniao Flamengo Santos’ protest at it challenged Fighters eligibility.

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) executive committee member, Eatametse Olopeng told a press briefing yesterday at Lekidi Centre that the second leg will be played at the Serowe Sport Complex next Sunday.

The winner of the play-offs will occupy the last spot in the Premier League. He explained that the two games would be played according to the BFA rules and regulations.

He said the away goal rule would be used and if it there is a tie, the two teams will go straight into penalties to decide the winner.

Green Lovers coach, Othusitse Kootswele said his players are ready for the encounter. He said they are taking the game like any other league match and no special preparations were made.

“We are aware that the former Zebras coach, Stan Tshosane is Fighters technical advisor. We have lot of respect for him, but we are going to pull out all the stops to walk away with maximum points. We are not under pressure,” he said.

Keotswele said their opponents have had the opportunity to watch them play, but on the other hand they have not had such an opportunity.

Fighters’ coach, Mpho Mabogo said his side is also ready for the match. He said they are expecting a tough game against the Serowe side.

He said with the calibre of players he has, he believes that he would wrap the first leg with ease. Mabogo said the intention is to keep a cool head and let players do their job.

Meanwhile, Botswana Premier League chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi said they are working on closing the gap that exists between the two tiers.
