Top players get fans� nod in bePLAYER vote

Botswana football fans have been voting in their thousands for the inaugural bePLAYER of the Season Award with the potential for a tight race to the end of the season.
The new prize has been added to this year’s Botswana Premier League (BPL) awards ceremony with one lucky fan that votes for the winning player to receive P20,000 if their star’s name comes out on top.
The player himself will receive P20,000 as well as the prestigious trophy having been chosen by the fans. The Top 10 have started to emerge in the voting as fans let their voices be heard with some interesting names in the mix for the leading prize.
The Mochudi Centre Chiefs trio of Lesego Galenamotlhale, Pontsho Moloi, and Lemponye Tshireletso are all there having helped their club to the beMOBILE Premier Soccer League title this weekend.
All have played a significant part for the club this season and fans have noticed that excellence. Hendrick Moyo from second-placed Orapa United is also in the Top 10 having been a rising star for this year’s Premier League. There are also four players from capital side, Gaborone United (GU) being Ofentse Nato, Benson Shilongo, Goitseone Phoko and Mpho Kgaswane, while Segolame Boy and Dirang Moloi are there representing Township Rollers. With two rounds of matches to go this season, there are still performances that could influence the voting and see some players emerge as clear favourites.
