Hosted by Bambino from TLC, the comedy show, which was sponsored by Mandy Promotions, will run annually.

First to enter the stage was a young Kgatleng man named Thabang Kgafela. Kgafela immediately spread laughs around with his great sense of humour.  He used reality to mimic and critic issues in a very funny way.

In one of he jokes he compared a tall girl in an Altezza dress to a person hiding behind a curtain.  Next up on the line-up was Enigma, the only woman there.  She represented women very well.  Enigma who is also a poet and a rapper used satire addressing the free condom, Lorato.

She also used her funny jokes to indicate that women are very creative in their own way. Enigma also covered sex mistakes many people often make in relationships.  One of the qualities that separated her from other comics is her ability to use jokes in a more educative way.  From there Tumisang ‘Deco’ Mampane came on stage and he immediately shot straight into his story about a man who had so many children.  His joke was very funny yet tragic and he kept branching out other jokes from the same story.

Drawing audience members in with his pokerfaced self-deprecation, Kose ‘Onza’ Kenosi graced the stage with his punchlines.

In one of his jokes, he said he was afraid to dump his trashy girlfriend in the street because the city council could charge him for littering. As a proud Kalanga man, Onza used his origin to show his pride, but still used a bit of mockery.  First time on the stage was a young man called Otshepheng Mampane whose stage name is Spiro.

His decidedly low-key stage persona disproved a deeply intelligent man inside. Spiro incorporated a lot of English language and accent to deceive his discerning fans. He made fun of young women around Gaborone who often forget their roots.  Next up was another comic with a very funny outfit and stage composure. Abel Maruza who goes by the stage name Nkapole made fun of people around him including family and friends.  And then entered the man who was probably the funniest telling by the laughter from the audience.  The promising comedian, Gaokanyetswe Moratiwa, who goes by the name ‘Ouza’ mimicked celebrities and local news anchors. He also incorporated his experiences from primary school to take the audience back to the old days.

Augustus ‘Legusty’ Mokgadi then graced the stage to further continue the hilarity. He interacted with his audience and came up with a joke every time he saw an interesting thing from the audience.  He told hilarious stories from the streets and added a bit of his own experience.

Last comic of the night was Katlo ‘Kaylo’ Lekgowe who came on stage dressed in police gear. The most interesting thing about his jokes is that he animated his characters to burst his audience into rapturous laughter.

The organiser of the comedy show, Edward Moroka, said they wanted to give first timers a platform to prove themselves on stage.  “To elevate this show, in the future we are going to include foreign acts to motivate these upcoming comics,” he said.  Moroka also said they were not happy with the turnout, but were glad that the show was successful.
