Addressing the BMD Youth elective congress in Mochudi over the weekend, Gaolathe said he was aware of speculation on the matter.

“I want things to be clear for those who have wishes and go around spreading that I will challenge Boko,” he said.

“I don’t have any intention of challenging him.

“I know some youths keep writing on social media about that.

“You people are blessed to have a leader such as Boko and you have to respect him.

“I want all BMD members to respect the UDC leadership and I will not condone a situation where our members are disrespecting party leadership.”

He said the reason why UDC was very strong was because of Boko’s leadership together with the MPs. Gaolathe urged BMD members to always respect and preach unity among all affiliates of the opposition bloc.

The BMD president used the event to take a swipe at UDC legislators, saying he was not happy with their tardiness at events.

“I am not happy with the fact that our MPs like to come late to events. Most of the time I arrive first in the party caucus or Parliament business.

“Let’s desist from doing that because our members will not take us seriously if we continue with that,” he said.

Gaolathe revealed that the party would train 1,000 people for party leadership positions and had a target of winning 40 constituencies in the 2019 elections.
