Keitas Africa track lights up Botswana craft night

The jazz superstar was in Botswana on Thursday for the celebration of the International Jazz Day (April 30) at Botswana Craft.

News of Keita coming to town was met with a lot excitement on various corners and the social platforms were buzzing with activity where people “vowed not miss this one.”

But on the night of the show most people looked rather astounded than excited, especially in the opening stages of the show, which had attracted a big crowd.

The snare drum, the tickling lead guitar signaled the start of his performance when he finally appeared from the background clad in a yellow outfit the crowd felt the big moment had arrived.

His first song was symbolic of a tantalising starter meal at the dinner table as his band dominated the early stages, showcasing their skill with different instruments while Keita coolly nodded to the sounds while strolling across the stage.

Many had expected him to immediately shift to a higher gear but the Malian musician chose some soft tunes.

But there were some exciting moments when Keita managed to shake the crowd, like when he ushered to the crowd his Yamore track.

Jumping excitedly around the stage while his band displayed some good creativity, the musician was able to get the crowd cheering as an ambiance of positive energy ran across the venue.

But the track Africa, one of his most liked across the world, put the much needed spark on the show and suddenly revelers felt rejuvenated and all alive as they danced along to the popular tune, which is a mixture of jazz and rhumba sounds.
