Rollers Thrash Meat Girls

The hosts scored two goals in each half to boost their chances of clinching the title.

The game started on a high note with Rollers taking the lead in the third minute through Masego Koboto’s astounding finish from close range. The Meat Girls tried to come to terms by increasing the tempo with a good exchange of passes, but they were let down by poor play in the final third. Rollers took control of the game and thwarted Meat Girls attempts to get an equaliser before the break. Things got worse for the visitors when Amogelang Moani made it 2-0. She swiftly slotted the ball past the Meat Girls’ goalkeeper, Goaitse Gokwateng who was having a terrible time in the goal posts.

Meat Girls started the second half by launching attacks, but were hit again when Moani completed her brace by converting from the rebound after Gokwateng failed to punch out the ball from a well-taken set piece. The short goalkeeper was in trouble due to the fact that her team conceded several free kicks in dangerous areas.

On the hour mark, defender Masego Montsho made it 4-0 from a free kick. It was a well-taken set piece that sailed to the top right corner, way beyond the goalkeeper’s reach. After the goal, Gokwateng was taken out of her misery when she was pulled out for a taller goalkeeper. Aratwa Kedemang of Rollers almost made it 5-0 from a set piece, but the new goalkeeper saved well.
