In a recent interview, Dipholo who owns Disolis Building and Civil Construction proudly told The Monitor Business that through help from CEDA he has built a company from nothing but now employs about 60 people. “I am a civil engineer by profession, had a permanent job at Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) until the time when I realised that I needed a fresh challenge.

After resigning, I assessed Lobatse wondering what businesses can be sustainable here. It was then when I realised that there was lack of sand.” Said Dipholo

With the savings he had, Dipholo said that he bought a wheelbarrow and started delivering sand to people. “Many people teased me because I left a well paying job to just to deliver sand.”

“I then bought another wheelbarrow after realising that the one that I was using was not enough. Years later in 2012, I approached CEDA who were interested in my vision and through their assistance my business managed to thrive. I am now a millionaire and I  have  recently secured another funding with them.”

Dipholo further advised people that starting and running a business requires determination, passion and persistence for it to be successful. Lately he has embarked on some initiatives to help the community of Lobatse, sponsoring some students to pursue their education. He boasted that some of his protégés are now working, holding bigger positions. He also added that he had offered his one-hectare plot to Lobatse Town Council for development of businesses that can assist the youth of the town.

Dipholo also offered his farm for young farmers who are especially assisted through Young Farmers Fund because most of them encounter problems with accessing land.

“I am also benchmarking, I just returned from Gumare, Maun and Bobonong, because I want to grow my business,” he said.
