BMC sidelines coach, appoints Mahloane

The duo took over from Daniel Nare during the January transfer window.

Former Gaborone United player, Horatio Mahloane has since been given the responsibility to lead the team in the last three games of the season, and will be assisted by Pollen Busang and Mandivenga Paradzayi. Ezinkomo, who once occupied second spot are now eighth  on the log and fighting to maintain their position.

The team once enjoyed a 10 game unbeaten streak, with their first defeat coming in the hands of Township Rollers in week 11.  They have collected three points out of possible 15 in their last five games.

Mahloane’s task is to keep the club within the Top 8, and his first assignment will be against 10th placed BR Highlanders on Saturday, before playing rookies Sankoyo Bush Bucks and Letlapeng in the two last games of the season.

The club’s chairman, Kelesitse Gilika said they handed Tsatsilebe paid leave, but could not say if he had been fired.

Meanwhile, Gilika said they are in the process of re-branding the club.

“We have long decided to change the name from BMC FC to Giliport FC, however the Botswana Football Association (BFA) advised us to wait with the whole process until the end of the season,” he said. 

He said the club have halted the re-branding process and the search for sponsors until the end of the season, as their main focus is to make sure they finish well in the remaining games.
