Star attraction: Moloi's eligibility has been questioned

The comments come after domestic football disciplinary bodies received numerous protests and appeals during the current beMOBILE Premier League season.

Mamelodi said the fact that the cases have been reported to their office is in itself a positive development.

“This shows that local football has grown as people are now exercising their democratic right. We also learn from it.

“This also helps us to ensure that justice is served just like in the South African Premier league and in Confederation of African Football (CAF),” Mamelodi said.

Among the unresolved cases, Letlapeng has decided to approach the National Appeals Board (NAB) in a case in which they are challenging the eligibility of Mochudi Centre Chiefs captain, Pontsho Moloi.

Orapa United have also protested against Chiefs’ use of Moloi, as they believe he had received more than three cards and was therefore not eligible to play.  The Premier League Disciplinary Committee recently docked points from Sankoyo Bush Bucks in a case involving Motlakase Power Dynamos.

Satmos had also protested against Sankoyo’s use of a Zimbabwean player.

Sankoyo are appealing the judgement, which found them guilty of using Morris Ruzivo when he was not properly registered.

Letlapeng is also said to have filed a protest against Sankoyo over the use of the same player.  Meanwhile, Mamelodi said they are making arrangements with sponsors, beMOBILE for the awards ceremony.

“Despite all these cases, the season is going to end without any obstacles and the crowning ceremony is not going to be affected.  “We are engaging with the sponsor in order to organise a special ceremony and we are progressing well,” he said.
