Though there are a number of Premier League matches this weekend, it is the Ostriches clash against Rollers that has attracted attention.

Rollers are fresh from the last Saturday disappointment after they lost 2-1 to Gaborone United in Mascom Top 8 final. Days after the heartbreak, Rollers’ coach Madinda Ndlovu quit while his assistant Zechariah Mudzazi was released by the club. The fallout has brought in Teenage Mpote, who takes charge of his first match against Orapa United.

Log leaders, Mochudi Centre Chiefs are facing Motlakase Power Dynamos in another match that has a bearing on the title race. Both Orapa and Rollers hope Chiefs, which have put one hand on the trophy, drop points against Motlakase to raise their slim hopes of winning the title.

Orapa United are having a dream season and hope to capitalise on Rollers’ Top 8 final disappointment. The Orapa side would also want to avenge a 6-1 first round drubbing at the hands of Rollers. A lot has changed since then for both sides. Rollers brought in new players including Dirang Moloi, Noah Maposa and Jerome Ramatlhakwana while Orapa have captured the likes of Mandlaenkosi Sibanda. The selection headache is expected to continue for Rollers’ technical team after being thoroughly exposed by GU last Saturday. Rollers’ talisman, Segolame Boy, Moloi and Sekhana Koko on the right were closed down by GU, leaving Kobamelo Kebaikanye as the only attacking threat. Orapa will pin their hopes on striker, Patrick Lenyeletse as well as Hendrick Moyo to cause havoc. Coach, Maxwell Phiri has turned the Orapa side into a force to reckon with and he would want to make amends after his charges lost 2-0 to Chiefs a fortnight ago. Rollers are second on the log, just one point above Orapa United.

Chiefs hope to extend their winning streak tonight when they take on Motlakase at the Serowe Sports Complex. Chiefs need five points from their remaining four games to win the title. Sankoyo Bush Bucks, that were docked points last week will be up against Nico United in Maun while FC Satmos host Extension Gunners as they continue their battle for survival in the Premier League. ECCO City Greens will be away to BR Highlanders while Notwane lock horns with BMC at SSKB Stadium.
