D-day in Letlapeng, Chiefs case

Letlapeng are arguing that Moloi had not served his suspension when he faced them after picking up three yellow cards.

They had initially filed the protest with the Botswana Premier League (BPL) disciplinary committee (DC) saying Moloi was a defaulter when he appeared in Chiefs’ 3-1 win over the Ramotswa side.

They argued Moloi had accumulated three yellow cards and was supposed to have served his suspension at the time when he faced them.

However, the BPL DC dismissed the case on the basis that Police XI were the rightful complainants and sat on their rights to protest.

They have now appealed the decision with the BFA DC, which is expected to listen to the arguments and make a ruling on the matter today. Moloi has been an influential figure for Chiefs when they turned around their fortunes in the second round of the league.

As a result of his exploits on the field, together with his teammates, Chiefs are top of the log standings with 60 points from 26 games.

They take on Motlakase Power Dynamos this Friday hoping to maintain their good run. Letlapeng, on the other hand, are languishing at the bottom of the league table with just 15 points.
