Addressing the media yesterday, Sprint Couriers projects director Michelle Gebrial said the partnership would have an unrivalled breadth of service offerings supported by the most powerful global network in the industry.  Consumers are set to have access to a comprehensive portfolio of transportation solutions, such as express, economy, global freight forwarding, contract logistics and surface transportation capabilities, market leading customer interface technology, investments in service, operational excellence and good corporate citizenship.

“There will also be access to an enhanced, integrated global network, combining Aramex strong international capabilities and Sprint Couriers strength in Botswana,” she said.

The formation of this new entrant Aramex will create a leading global player in the transportation and logistics industry, drawing on the considerable and complementary strengths of both companies.

“However, Sprint Couriers will continue to conduct its business and operations as before. Our focus is on improving service and operational efficiency and we will continue to honour our existing commitments,” added Gebrial, adding that the two companies will remain separate but related stronger companies.

Aramex Botswana manager, Kelly Ramputswa noted that this is an exciting joint venture, especially that a local company is entering global market through Aramex.

“Shopping online will be easier for locals as we have the shop’n ship service which allows one to order online and we will collect their products and deliver them at their doorstep,” she said.

Sprint Couriers’ operations director, Pinkie Setlalekgosi noted that they have been chosen by the Selection Committee to receive the International Quality Summit Award (IQS) in the Platinum category in the year of 2015 for commitment to Quality and Excellence. The award will be presented during the international BID Quality Convection in New York on May 24th and 25th.

Last year, Sprint Couriers was presented with the International Star Award for Quality (ISAQ) award at the Inter Continental Geneve Convention Center in Switzerland.

The award honours organisations merits in innovation, quality, excellence and good practices.

In 2012, the company was awarded the Diamond award by Debswana, which was given to their outstanding service providers applauding them for their great service. From 2009 to 2014, Sprint Couriers were the PMR winners, an award to celebrate excellence and acknowledge in business.
