Gantsi, the forgotten city

Gantsi has a potential to be urbanised to become a great town.

For a nicely and strategically located township just 500km away from Windhoek, Namibia surely something must give. I understand the old airport is to be made obsolete and thus a new CBD is envisaged. I urge Botswana Investment Trade Facility (BITF), CEDA, Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) to take a trip to the South West and ponder. Gantsi can be our beef capital and other opportunities beckon.

Gantsi needs to be made a thriving metropolis with hotels, large abattoir, mixed use development etc. The old airport is an opportunistic 2.5km2 land within the centre of the township. Gantsi will need a hotel for sure, but am told former area MP Johnny Swartz is contemplating such.

I understand the new airport is being planned elsewhere in the village, but small as it is Gantsi, it could spell a good opportunity for investors.

I hope my great MP Noah Serikgweri L Salakae, could drive the motive to lure investors to the township.

We might as well upgrade the primary hospital into a fully fledged refferal hospital for the benefit of the area. It will be for the good of the country.

As for tourism, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) is just in the vicinity... so Botswana Tourism Organisation will have to intensify. I think a sporting facility (mini stadium) will be handy for the advantage of Gantsi Terrors football club.
