Highlanders� marksman hospitalized

Josiah is Highlanders’ top marksman after amassing six goals. Mokute told Mmegi Sport that Josaya fell sick after their game with Nico United in Selebi-Phikwe which they drew 1-1. BR Highlanders scored through Emmanuel Thakadu.
“Josiah had been well and even played the game until the 78th minute when I substituted him for Lali Oabile.
“He did not show any signs of illness while on the pitch or even before the game. Even when I substituted him, it was not because I saw any signs of illness, but because I felt he was fatigued.
“It was also to give others a chance. He played very well during the day, I had no doubts about him,” said Mokute.
Mokute added that immediately after the game, Josiah said that he was feeling dizzy and said he had asthmatic attack.
“We then rushed him to Selebi-Phikwe Primary Hospital where he was attended to and later hospitalised,” Mokute explained.
Highlanders are expecting their marksman to be released from the hospital before the end of this week though they are not too sure if he would be fit to play anytime soon.
“We are hoping for him to be released soon because this morning when I talked to him, he told me that he was feeling well and said he might come out anytime.
“He is not an asthmatic person, so we were surprised by this attack and we wish him a speedy recovery.
“We will be happy if he can be released from the hospital though we are not sure if he will be able to play the remaining four games,” said a worried Mokute.
Meanwhile, Highlanders whose biggest aim now is to avoid the chop are so far still enjoying a good run.
They have so far played 26 games; have 30 points and occupy position 11 with only four games left in the league.
Stimela, as BR Highlanders is affectionately called, are left with ECCO City Greens, which is at position 15 on the log, BMC that was over the weekend thrashed by Township Rollers with an avalanche of goals, Orapa United and Motlakase Power Dynamos.
Mokute said they are targetting 10 points from the remaining games, three wins and at least a draw though he did not rule out the fact that in football everything is possible. Mokute said they are also still expecting additional three points from their case with Extension Gunners, though he said they are not relying much on the three points.
The case, in which BR Highlanders accused Gunners of using a defaulter, was postponed last month.
