With only four games left, Chouka as Motlakase are affectionately known, sit on position 10 on the beMOBILE Premier League table with 32 points.

They are seven points more than FC Satmos that sit on position 14, the last relegation spot.

Motlakase are also three points away from the top eight bracket.  Assistant coach, Pule Mogotsi has said they are now relishing finishing in the top eight.  “We fought well and we need just three points to brush off the relegation fright and switch to our target (top eight),” he said.

He said they started the season on a low note, but managed to pick themselves up.

“We fought our battles really well and most importantly we managed to assemble a formidable side at the very crucial stage of the league.

“Even though we suffered a setback against Gunners, we are still on course and we are very optimistic,” he said.

He said they have looked at how the teams below them have been struggling and will try and capitalise.  “We have a lot of youngsters in our team and they are showing tremendous energy.

There are no signs of fatigue.

“Of course we have been blowing hot and cold, but it is because of the breaks which have really affected our momentum,” he added.

He further said as much as they want to have all their players in camp during preparations at this crucial time, they have a player in Gape Mohutsiwa on national assignment with the under 23. Pule said it was a positive step for the growth of the player.

Chouka’s next assignment is home to the log leaders Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
