Letshego gives away P1.8m mansion

The promotion ran from April to December last year in all of the Letshego’s 14 branches. Auditors, Ernst & Young picked one finalist from each sales station to select the top 14 finalists for the final draw held in Gaborone.
“I am so excited and want to thank the Lord for giving me this opportunity. I did not expect this, even though I was a bit nervous and afraid, I just told my God that if this house was meant for me I will get it,” she added
According to Klaas she did not know about the competition until the day she went to Letshego to get a loan.
“When I was filling the loan forms, I was told about the raffle, I filled the forms and forgot about it because most of the time I knew that these competitions are won by people who live in Gaborone.” She further said that after some time she tried to enquire about the competition at Letshego and some lady told her that someone has won the house, but she would later learn that in fact the same house was still under construction in Gaborone. “I was surprised when I got a call that I was short listed as one of the finalists, I prayed hard and even tried so many times to fast which I failed. Some of my relatives also suggested that I should consult traditional doctor, which I did not do because I am a Christian and believed that if the house was meant for me I will get it.” At the draw for the house, the Minister of Lands and Housing, Prince Maele applauded Letshego’s gesture adding that it is in line with the President’s housing appeal and that the gesture contributes to one of the vision 2016’s pillars of ‘A Compassionate, Just and Caring Nation.
“I want to urge Klaas not to sell this house, rather rent it because its market value is about P1.8 million. It is too sad to learn that everyday Batswana are transferring their houses to foreigners because of money.”
Maele also commended Conti Cats Holdings that built the house, stressing that unlike most of local companies he delivered the project on time and budget. The top 14 finalists comprised of Beauty Kerupile, Tebogo Bokadi, Gakeithoke Matlalo, Mogomotsi Kgole, Emmanuel Lesetedi, Chris Zuze, Rosemary Banda, Bulayani Manji, Gaseitsewe Manyepedza, Robert Kesiilwe, Chopi Toko, Moleti Sepora and Janet Kubuka.
They each walked away with a 32 HD LED Sansui television set and P1000, 00 grocery voucher. Letshego which has been operating for 17 years, conducted another promotion named ‘Retswa kgakala’ in 2013, another one called ‘Kgatelo pele’ in 2014 before the latest win a house competition.
