JWs assemble to Seek Peace and Pursue It

According to a spokesman of the Assembly, while individuals and families appreciate the importance of peace, for some, pursuing peace seems to be futile as it appears to be forever elusive.  However, seeking peace, and taking the additional step of pursuing it is something that is within the grasp of all of us. For that reason, God’s Word, the bible promotes peace. In fact, those seeking peace and pursuing it gain God’s approval.

The programme of the Assembly will help all in attendance to objectively reflect on the Godly quality of peace, and will enable them to introspect and assess how they are measuring up to this quality as individuals and families. This will no doubt be helpful in determining areas of improvement as we all continue to seek God’s favour.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are known worldwide for their respect for the bible and for their zeal in sharing God’s Word with people in their communities. They consider the entire bible as God’s Word and the counsel found therein always beneficial. The bible based programme for the Assembly will clearly demonstrate the value of applying God’s Word in our lives.

At the Assembly, a number of bible based talks will be delivered. These talks will answer questions that we often grapple with, such as; What is essential if we are to enjoy true peace?; How can we safeguard our peace with God?; Why should we promote peace? and Why should we be interested in seeking peace and pursuing it?

The programme is scheduled to start in the morning and will conclude in the afternoon. The entire programme will be in Setswana. Worldwide, there are over 8 million Jehovah’s Witnesses serving in over 230 lands and islands.
