AKA hits fan

The man was slapped across the face after he told the multi-award winning rapper that his former ‘archrival’, Cassper Nyovest, is better than him. The Cape Town-born AKA, 27, is not new to controversy. Apart from his chart topping singles he was also known for one of the biggest beefs in the history of South African hip hop with Cassper Nyovest.
The young man hurled comments that triggered AKA’s reaction at the show he headlined with Cassper Nyovest.
After his performance that was scheduled for after midnight the rapper went back to his white quantum, which was just parked adjacent from Cassper Nyovest’s. A number of his fans followed the All Eyes On Me star to his car scrambling for picture opportunities with the new father-to-be. With the Showbiz crew on site, the tussle to get pictures and a handshake from AKA was so intense that it prompted him to step out of the car to calm the situation down.
“Guys listen I want to take pictures with all of you, but you have to cooperate,” he said.
Before he could finish his sentence a female voice interrupted him, and the agitated AKA then shouted, “Shut the f*** up! I am still talking.”
This is when the young man yelled at the Levels rapper that Cassper Nyovest is better than him before receiving a few knocks from the star. His entourage then whisked AKA away from the scene.
“I told him that he sucks and Cassper Nyovest is far much better than him,” said the young man.
“His manager apologised and asked me not to Tweet about the incident since it might affect his career,” said the young man, who then told Showbiz that he would not press charges against AKA.
Event organiser, DJ Kuchi, also told Showbiz that he was told of the incident. “I was informed that AKA had slapped one of the guys who had made some rude remarks. Apparently he called AKA, Cassper Nyovest. But I do not have the full details,” he said.
AKA’s manager, Benza Raphael, yesterday said that he would comment at 2 pm, but his mobile number was offline in the afternoon, cutting off any further contact.
